ENGL140 ALfarhan, Khalid - Week 6 5\4

In the question (8). I have chosen (Sentence) for this question (Crowds of screaming teenagers surrounded the Beatles wherever they went) . My answer was correct because (This word group is a sentence: an independent clause (Crowds of screaming teenagers surrounded the Beatles . . .) that includes a subordinate clause (wherever they went)). In the question (9). I have chosen (Sentence) for this question (Determined to touch one or more of these famous music makers.) .My answer was wrong because (This word group is a fragment. It consists of a participial phrase that needs to be attached to something. Here is a good way to fix the fragment:
Crowds of screaming teenagers, determined to touch one or more of these famous music makers, surrounded the Beatles wherever they went.

). The correct answer was (Fragment). In the question (10). I have chosen ( Sentence) for this question (Reporters observing the conduct of fans at Beatles' concerts found that they had to invent a new word to describe the wild, almost insane behavior of the fans: That word was "Beatlemania."). My answer was wrong because (This word group is a sentence: two independent clauses joined with a colon)
